Automotive sector is less optimistic for 2023 due to the dollar and GDP – Sectors – Economy

A survey of businessmen in the automotive sector during the month of December revealed that 60 percent believe that the company’s economic situation is good, but this percentage is lower than that found in previous Andemos surveys. In this sense, 53 percent affirmed that the activity of the company was less than that of the previous month.

For the next 12 months, 48 ​​percent of employers considering that the economic situation of the country will be the same; 35 percent, that it will be worse and 17 percent, that it will improve.

Demand expectations for next year will be lower, prices are expected to start to level off

The lower anticipated investment expectations since 82 percent of those surveyed believe that It is not a good time to increase themwhile 63 percent are focusing their efforts on sustaining actions.

For the next three months, 60 percent think that the economic situation of the company will remain the same, while 29 percent believe that it will get worse and 10 percent that it will be better.

The survey conducted by Andemos also reveals that 57 percent of businessmen anticipate that in the next three months its sales of new vehicles will tend to decrease and 30 percent believe that they will continue without any change. Only 13 percent believe that they will increase.

Regarding expectations for 2023, 67 percent of businessmen consider that the performance of the market will be less than in 2022, with an estimated average of 241,762 new vehicles, this figure represents an expected drop of 8 percent.

«The exchange rate and economic growth are the main variables that can have a positive or negative impact on the performance of the automotive sector in 2023. On the other hand, as inventories are normalizing and demand expectations for next year are going to be lower, it is expected that prices are beginning to level out,” said Oliverio García, president of Andemos.
