Destruction and looting in Baja California Sur after Hurricane Odile

The passage of Hurricane Odile through the Baja California peninsula left streets flooded, houses and hotels destroyed, and various businesses in the area looted.

Mexican authorities will warn that more landslides could occur in the coming days as the storm moves northwest.

The city of San José del Cabo is without potable water and electricity service and there are no communications or land access to its northern zone.

«The whole place is devastated, the windows were destroyed, the trees and electricity cables on the ground,» Mauricio Balderrama, manager of the Cabo Surf Hotel and Spa in San José del Cabo, told Reuters, who later contributed that all his the guests were found safe.
