Portfolio known in scoop that Guillermo Herrera, former Minister of Sport, was named this Thursday as president of the Colombian Chamber of Construction (Camacol) by the Board of Directors of the union.

The politician, born in Anserma, Caldas, in August 1969, graduated as Business Administrator from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario University. Likewise, he has a specialization in Urban Law from the Externado de Colombia University and in Public Administration and Urban Government from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (Holland).

Between 1998 and 2002 he worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Economic Development, in 2003 he was appointed consultant for the Directorate of Territorial Development and the vice ministry of housingin 2009 he was appointed director of Territorial Development of the Ministry of Environment, in 2011 he was appointed director of Urban and Territorial Space of the Ministry of Housing and in 2013 he was appointed Vice Minister of Housing under Minister Luis Felipe Henao, during the presidency of Juan Manuel Santos Calderón .

On July 6, 2021, he was designated as Colombian Minister of Sportsucceeding Ernesto Lucena Barrero in office.
