Note: In this report of Netflix hours watched from February 20, 2023 to February 26, 2023, we will use “Full View Equivalent” or CVE, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours watched advertised by Netflix by the running time of the movies or series. It allows for better comparisons between movies and series, but it is not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the movie or season.
1. external banks Season 3 launches with a bang.
The third season of external banks it’s going very well, thank you very much. With 17.7 million CVEs in its first four days, it’s the third best launch for a new season of a US show launched on a Thursday, immediately after the second season of ginny and georgia.
It’s also a better release than Season 2, but we’ll know more next week about how it’s stacking up against Season 2.
2. we have a ghost and the caminates make very decent pitches.
we have a ghost was Netflix’s top title on the movie side of things last week, and it’s launching pretty well, with 19.1 million CVEs through its opening weekend.
It’s not a top-tier release, but it’s also not a top-tier movie from Netflix’s lineup as a B-tier movie, it had a better release than A Madea Homecoming and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.
Hailing from the UK, tense thriller the caminates it also got off to a perfect start with 17.8 million CVEs through its first five days and the second-highest opening for an international English-language film opening on a Wednesday.
3. Murdaugh murders makes a killer start.
Netflix docu-series generally tend to have a timely release schedule, but not as timely as the release of the murdaugh Murders, Given the The trial of this case is happening right now in the United States.
True crime documentary series plus a timely release date equals an unprecedented release for Murdaugh murders. With 17 million CVEs in its first five days, it’s the best launch for any documentary series released on a Wednesday.

Season 5 of the documentary series Formula 1: drive to survive it launched last week and did the exact same numbers as the previous season, with 4 million CVEs during its opening weekend.
5. Triptych It is on fire.
The first season of Triptych did a great launch with 9M CVE during its first five days, the best launch for a new series coming from Latin America in my book, not far from the best launch for an international series premiering on a Wednesday (10.5M for the Polish series High water ). So quite an encouraging start!
Overall, it was a pretty good week for new Netflix movies and series, with plenty of decent numbers.
