Welcome to your weekly roundup of the biggest stories from Netflix’s top 10 hourly figures for the week ending November 27, 2022.

Netflix updates its Top 10 Stats page weekly with 40 new figures per hour for the top movies and shows from the last 7 days. If you want to easily browse the top 10 hourly data, visit our tool.

Note: In this report on Netflix hours watched from November 21 to 27, 2022, we will use “Complete View Equivalent” or CVE, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours watched advertised by Netflix by the running time of the movies or series. It allows for better comparisons between movies and series, but it is not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the movie or season. However, in its latest letter to shareholders, Netflix used the CVE metric to talk about The Gray Man, so there is value in this metric, imperfect as it is.

1. Wednesday has a crazy start.

Surprisingly (no), a young adult revival of a beloved IP is doing wonders on Netflix, but what’s surprising here is the scale of its start. With 50.6 million CVEs for the first 5 days, that’s more than double what Dahmer he did during his first 5 days. That’s also more than 4 times what the previous Thanksgiving series did (that was True story with Kevin Hart).

Now the big question about this launch is how high can it Wednesday Let’s go?

If we take a more general bird’s eye view of Netflix’s biggest series of 2021 and 2022, here’s how Wednesday it is working so far after 5 days.

From there, there are two paths to take: an even higher second week that would send Wednesday well above Stranger Things 4 and Dahmer in the 120-140 million CVE region after 28 days or a more traditional second week. for new seasons of returning (or returning) shows. IPs like Wednesday and The Addams family) that would show a decline and put it around the 100 million CVE mark after 28 days. It’s not quite in Squid game territory yet and probably never will be, but it’s a stellar release.

two. noel’s diary makes a good start.

Along with Wednesday, Netflix released a typical Christmas romance with noel’s diary over Thanksgiving, and got off to a good start with 21.8 million CVEs in 4 days.

That’s the third best opening for a romantic movie opening on a Thursday, a far cry from falling in love with christmas with Lindsay Lohan (which is still a smash hit three weeks after its release).

3. Some follow-ups Elite Y warrior nun

This week, the sixth season of Elite dominates the ranking of non-English series. But as we wrote last week, season six is drawing less viewing time than the previous season to the tune of 35% less, which is the same gap as after three days.

The second follow up is about warrior nun S2 because it will probably disappear next week from the charts. Her third week is not showing the signs of improvement that we wrote about last week for her second week. If we compare with other second seasons of English-speaking series, this is what we find.

Warrior Nun season 2 vs other shows: those in green are renewed and those in red are cancelled.

As for the previous weeks, warrior nun he is on a path that does not bode well for his future. But with such a dedicated fandom, you never know what Netflix would do. A third season seems hard to come by, but maybe a closing movie or a shorter final season?

Everything and anything is possible.
