WICHITA, Kan. — Authorities have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting three patients after breaking into a Wichita hospital and then fighting with security guards who tried to stop him.
The Wichita Eagle reports that police were called around 2 a.m. Thursday to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis. Wichita police spokesman Juan Rebolledo said Friday that two guards were beaten before police arrived.
The 28-year-old suspect is now jailed on $250,000 bail for three counts of rape.
Citing an active investigation, the hospital forwarded the comments to the police department.
Rebolledo said the suspect was not a hospital patient or employee. He added that it is not clear how the man got to the hospital.
